The Opportunity
We are seeking a Veterinary Cardiologist (board-certified or residency-trained) to take over an established full-time role within our central Auckland hospital. This opportunity arises as our current cardiologist moves on to pursue new adventures after five years of service. You’ll be stepping into a well-supported position with an existing caseload, joining a collaborative team of specialists committed to delivering the highest standard of care across a diverse range of cases.

Key Responsibilities
- Patient Diagnosis & Management: Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, develop individualised treatment plans, and manage a wide range of cardiac conditions.
- Advanced Diagnostics: Utilise echocardiography, electrocardiography (ECG), thoracic radiography, Holter monitoring, and other diagnostic tools to evaluate and diagnose cardiac disease.
- Interventional Procedures: Perform or oversee interventional cardiology procedures such as pericardiocentesis, pacemaker implantation, and balloon valvuloplasty.
- Client Communication & Education: Provide pet owners and referring veterinarians with clear, compassionate communication regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and long-term cardiac care plans.
- Collaborative Care: Work alongside our multidisciplinary specialist team to manage complex cases requiring integrated, multi-service support.
- Leadership & Development: Contribute to the growth and development of the cardiology service and support the training and development of interns, residents, and veterinary nurses within the practice.
